About Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Why are you so much less than the traditional funeral homes?A. We maintain our value pricing by never stuffing our packages with services that you do not need, we do not aim to please stockholders or maintain multi-million dollar facitilies.
Q. Why use a church for the visitation and/or funeral service?
A. It is tradition that many people are baptized, married, and/or worship in church buildings. We feel that you should also have your visitation and/or funeral ceremony in a church building. You would be in a more comfortable atmosphere and your family would not have to share facilities with anyone else.
Q. Is embalming required?
A. NO, it is not state law; unless you are planning an open casket viewing.
Q. Must I purchase a vault or grave liner?
A. NO, it is not state law, but some cemeteries may require them.
Q. If my loved one is already at another funeral establishment, can I move them to your
funeral establishment?
A. Yes! The next-of-kin or the person in charge of arrangements may request us to take over the arrangements. We would then remove your loved one from their funeral establishment and bring them into our care.
Q. How are pre-need fund deposits protected?
A. The funds must be placed in a bank trust account, insurance policy, or annuity. The safety of these accounts is governed and protected by a regulatory board or agency.
Q. My arrangements are with another funeral establishment, can I change to your
establishment?
A. YES, we will handle everything after you have contacted us.
Q. Must I pre-pay when making funeral service pre-arrangements?
A. NO! But the prices are only guaranteed if you pre-fund. Pre-planning means that you make your selections of merchandise and make decisions about your service without any funding (this does not “freeze” the price of services and/or merchandise selected). Pre-funding means that you made your choices with funding (this does “freeze” the price of services and/or merchandise selected). The cash advance or third party items are never guaranteed such as, death certificates, hairdresser, police escort, sales tax, flowers, etc.
There are two types of families, those who entrusted the final arrangements of their loved one to Cremation and Funeral Services of Nashville, and those who wished they had.
